Did you know that running a volunteer department is a tough job? It takes volunteers serving many hours every day. From medical calls to fire related emergencies we respond to them all. Our volunteers are wonderful, they bust their tails to respond without fail and all of our members do their best. Just think, in 2009 and 2010 we responded to over 800 calls, and in 2011 we are tracking over 1000. That is very busy for a volunteer department. We have to keep our members protected, along with the newest technology in order to save lives and property. Our department has gone through many changes over the past years. From the start of our purchasing our first custom engine in 2000, to our recent purchase of our new 2010 CAFS Engine, we try to keep up with the community. Back behind all the trees there are large homes that require the correct apparatus to perform a rescue from one of our many multi story homes, or fight a fire if needed. Just think, now we have 3 Engines, 1 Platform Ladder truck, 2 specialty vac Tankers, 3 BrushTrucks, 1 Rescue, 1 Command unit and 2 Rehab trailers. We are ready! Our members spend their vacations training, their weekends working and responding to calls, and their family time saving lives and property. As Chief I am proud of your Fire Department! They are all great people! God Bless our Volunteers! |

Record Breaking Year!
Payne Springs Volunteer Fire Department (Fire Rescue) had a record breaking year, thanks to all who supported the event. Also want to thank everyone who made it possible, like all the actors, actresses, support teams, tractor suppliers – Billy Odom Roofing, James Jacobs, David Woodcock, and Poole Gas for the propane. A special thanks to the Reynolds family – with out you, we couldn’t even do this.
We may be missing some, but we want to say THANK YOU to all.
